Welcome, welcome to my little corner of the interwebs! I tried and tried to make this blurb sound ultra-professional but it always came out sounding more robotic than human.

So! Instead, let’s get to know me through more me sounding language.

Hey! I’m Jade — I’m 22, just graduated from Bryn Mawr College with a degree in Creative Writing and two (can’t forget about them because I love them too!) minors; one in Psychology and the other in Gender + Sexuality Studies.

I’m from Maplewood, New Jersey but love living all over — anywhere from suburban Philadelphia, to Vienna, Austria, to the west coast of Ireland.

With a degree in one hand and my excitement (nerves) about joining the real world, I’m ready to take steps further into the creative world. As a liberal arts gal, I truly want to do everything but unfortunately, I’m just a girl, not a magical witch (though that’d be epic).

One very strong common link between my various creative aspirations is my deep love for storytelling. The medium changes between the written word, images, moving pictures, just sound (podcasts are cool, y’all) —you name it! Regardless of the path, I always find myself pulling things together and re-organizing them until I’ve curated a storyline.

I believe we all have stories to tell and that every story has purpose, worth, value, and beauty (yes, even the gnarly ones). Story is how we connect with each other, how we empathize, how we relate to and understand this cray cray little Earth.

more jade factoids

Music is everything to me! I’ve been singing probably since before I could talk (cue the ABBA line from “Thank You For the Music”). I sang in an A Capella group in college & was a theater kid in high school (although when do you ever stop really being a theater kid? 🤭)

My favorite food is avocado (which I hated until I was a teenager, crazy times. Lesson learned: try new things!)

I would much rather bookstore hop than bar hop — when I visited Bath, the home of Jane Austen, I told myself don’t buy books, you have enough. I came back from England with 5.

I love making oddly specific Spotify playlists (check out “it smells like wet leaves” or “I made friends with a ghost.”)

My favorite band is The Head and the Heart. Go listen to them now! Current favorite of theirs is “Glory of Music II.”

My favorite shade of green is when a golden hour sunset touches spring grass (gorgeous).

I have four tattoos (my newest a sweet little hummingbird) and I wish I were a polyglot (duolingo has only helped so much).
